Summer Edwards, MS (she/her/hers)— I
believe that while we cannot control everything life throws our way, we can control how we respond—through our thoughts, our attitude, and the meaning we make of our experiences. I work with clients to help them find hope, purpose, and resilience, even in the midst of life’s challenges. My therapeutic approach is flexible and tailored to each individual. I often blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), existential therapy, and narrative therapy—modalities that emphasize personal meaning, choice, and the power of reframing our internal narratives. Together, we work to recognize that although we cannot control life’s circumstances or other people’s actions, we can shape the way we view and respond to them. As a mother of two, my personal journey has shaped my work in deep ways. My youngest son has faced complex medical needs since birth, giving me firsthand insight into the emotional landscape of parenting a child with chronic illness or special needs. These experiences allow me to connect with clients navigating similar paths with empathy and understanding. My own struggle to find a knowledgeable therapist during those years inspired me to become the kind of support I once needed—to walk alongside others who may feel unseen, overwhelmed, or isolated in their caregiving journey.
